YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – In January 2019, college presidents in attendance at the Scottsdale Conference unanimously signed a Joint Statement of NASCUMC Member Presidents on the Called General Conference and the Subject of Human Sexuality. In their statement, the college presidents encouraged the United Methodist Church “to honor the past and current practices of inclusion by amending their policies and practices to affirm full inclusion in the life and ministry of the United Methodist Church of all persons regardless of their race, ethnicity, creed, national origin, gender, gender identity/expression or sexual orientation.” Young Harris College was not present at the Scottsdale Conference.

Young Harris College affirms access and inclusion of all students, faculty and staff on its campus regardless of their race, ethnicity, creed, national origin, gender, gender identity/expression or sexual orientation.  The College recognizes that it is the duty of the voting delegates to make the final decision at their 2019 Called General Conference meeting.
