Emily CarellaYOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — A seasoned higher education professional with more than 19 years of experience in admissions and enrollment management, Emily Carella, joins the Young Harris College Admissions team as Vice President for Enrollment Management.

“We’re excited to welcome Emily back to Young Harris College,” said Dr. John Wells, YHC President. “She brings a vast amount of experience in higher education, with expertise in relationship building, team leadership, and strategic enrollment planning.”

Carella returns to YHC, having served as Director of Admissions from 2019 to 2020 where she led a team enrolling the largest freshman class in the institution’s history. She also played a key role in rebuilding relationships with local high school counselors and providing leadership for a team of admissions counselors.

Carella’s last position was Vice President for Enrollment Management and Interim Vice President for Student Development at Pfeiffer University. She oversaw admissions operations across three university campuses, encompassing undergraduate, graduate, and degree completion programs.

She was responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies, transforming admissions teams into cohesive units, and fostering collaborations with key campus stakeholders. Her leadership in strategic planning led to the development of new pathways for graduate programs at Pfeiffer, including Physician Assistant and Occupational Therapy, while spearheading initiatives to enhance the recruitment and retention of students at the Health Science Campus.

Additionally, she played a critical role in transitioning Pfeiffer University to a 4-day instructional week, optimizing the student experience and operational efficiency.

“We look forward to picking up where Emily left off when she was part of our team,” said Clint Hobbs, Interim Vice President for Enrollment. “She has a lot of experience in strategic thinking in the enrollment area and will help us accomplish great things for Young Harris College.”
