Dr. Rolando D. Tiu, Jr.
Professor of Psychology, Chair of the Department of Psychology - Mathematics, Science & Technology
Dr. Rolando Tiu joined the faculty at YHC in 2011 and was instrumental in building the Department of Psychology and earning accreditation for the psychology program from SACS-COC in 2012. He has experience working with children with behavioral and developmental disorders, as well as adults with mental retardation. He has published papers in the fields of intelligence, learning disabilities, and behavioral genetics. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the International Society for Intelligence Research.
Having taught at the college level since 2006, Dr. Tiu has taught a wide variety of psychology classes throughout his career. Currently, Dr. Tiu is primarily responsible for teaching the Psychology of Learning, Human Growth and Development, and Human Sexuality courses. When not working, he enjoys watching sports and spending time with his wife and two children.
